Cool comfort

This is a sofa that might just float your boat.  Spotted at the recent Rétromobile classic car auction, it’s made from the shining aluminium float of a Grumman Albatross seaplane, which was introduced in 1949 and served into the 1990s with the US Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard restoration of a Grumman HU-16.

The float has been converted into a settee by Italian interior designer Arteinmotion and could be the start of your very own float-up.
